Presented by Hong Kong Gaudeamus Dunhuang Ensemle: Resonance of Dunhuang Concert
The Hong Kong Gaudeamus Dunhuang Ensemble will perform in Canada for the first time this October. Invited by the Chinese Embassy in Canada, supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Toronto) and Chan Chong Charitable Foundation, the ensemble will present two exclusive concerts in Toronto and Ottawa to mark the 56th anniversary of China-Canada diplomatic relations.
Ahead of the performance, audiences will be treated to a distinguished lecture by Dr. Zhao Shengliang, renowned Dunhuang arts scholar and former Director of the Dunhuang Academy. His insights into the Mogao Caves’ cultural heritage will provide a profound academic context, enriching the concert experience and deepening appreciation of Dunhuang’s timeless resonance.
The performances in Canada aim to foster cross-cultural understanding and showcase the richness of Chinese heritage, positioning the ensemble as a leading non-governmental cultural ambassador.
